As going to Elphinstone was cancelled, the boat sailed north to a bay just after Marsa Alam.
I have been at this many times before, as this is typically the site of the last dive of trips ending to Port Ghalib.
On the 2015 trip we were here after Elphinstone, and the visibility then was really poor.
So I decided not to take any camera. Tomi did take the camera.
We went S-S/W down to 26 meters looking for sea grass, but did not find any, just sand.
We then turned west heading up the slope reaching soon the coral wall of the bay. Then wen along the wall edge, and lot divers from other boats came by, and we saw the Emperor Elite above us. Apparently also Emperor had decided not to go to Elphinstone.
We turned back at 25 minutes, and then swam at 10-15 meters on the coral wall towards the boat which we eventyally reached.
Just before the boat there was a big hawksbill turtle below a big overhand pinnacle in a small cavern.
The visibility was actually not so bad this time, but of of course much worse than at southern outer reefs.
