Saturday morning trip at Porkkkala for KUPLA club P1 divers.
Attendants: me, Camilla, Tero, Leppis, Alex, Marcus, Joonas. 7 divers in total.
We left from Kuplakammio at 10 with intention for boat to depart at 11.
Me and Camilla in my car and we also dove together.
Me and Camilla had both newly glued wrist seals on the dry suits.
Decided to dive the "Kuparihylky" wreck (Copper wreck).
Location 50.56.794 N, 24.29.028
Tero was driving Hinkki boat.
Weather was really nice, sunnu and quite warm.
It was a short boat ride to the wreck located north of a small rock.
We tried find it with sonar, but nothing showed up so dropped a shot at known coordinates.
Me and Camilla went as 2nd team and we found the main part of wreckage a short distance from the shotline at 12 m depth. It was a 20x20 m section of a sailing boat bottom and sides. Lot of wreck debirs all over the bottom at 12m. I did have my camera with me, but it did not work. THere was error message "Memory Card Error".
Afterwards same behaviour at surface, so some kind of format corruption in the card.
Later I inserted a brand new SD-card to the camera and will stop using this one.
So obviously no pictures.
We looked for more debris and then decided to start going up. There was ridge going up to 6 m. The by coincidence we found the boat anchor and decided to up by the anchor line doing safety stop.
My suit did not leak so gluing was succesfull.
Camilla had wet arms, but we suspect it was due to failing zipper, that needs to be replaced?
Drove Hinkki back to Porkala Marin, then back to Otaniemi.
The restaurant at Porkala Marin was between lunch and dinner time, so no food there
We had some pizza at Otaniemi.
