2019-12-12 dive 14, Rakeedhoo
MV Voyager started engines at 4 am and starting sailing toward Rakeedhoo island SE from our night mooring place.
Wake up this morning a bit later at 6:00. Then for me some coffee, toast, banana and soon the briefing. Tom was skipping the dive but Nick did come. With guide Nannu it was me + Nick, Jeff + Yolanda, Annie. Current was again moderately strong, so we dropped quickly to 31 meters onto the reef wall right hand shoulder, first we drifted quite fast, but then current slowed after 15-20 minutes. Decent looking coral under some overhangs, but not that much fish. After 30 min the reef started turning right and ascended more towards the top of the reef at 5 to 7 meters where there were lot of table corals. Many tables were broken, under the tables many different species of fish. We did not see anything big. After 55 min guide Nannu wanted us to get back to dhoni. I had done my safety stop on the top of the reef, actually some 20 minutes of it. Then back to dhoni, to Voyager and breakfast. It was a sunny morning with little clouds. Voyager left the Rakeedhoo and started sailing to NE so we could dive Fotteyo Kandu next.
