2020-06-16 Gustaf Adolf on Hinkki boat
This was an after work evening dive trip of diving club Kupla.
We were 11 divers: me, Alpi, Mikko V., Jari I, Kimmo, Jari K, Juhani, Ekaterina, Matti, Marianne, Pekka H.
We had to take both boats, 4 to Imeli, 7 to Hinkki. I was captain of Hinkki, Pekka of Irmeli, on Irmeli there were Pekka, Juhani, Jari K, Ekaterina.
Plan was to depart harbor at 16:30 but we left 16:45. Weather was bit cloudy but quite warm, almost no wind and very small waves. Decision was to dive Gustaf Adolf. I drove the boat out to south of Melkki and then let Alpi drive the boat to destination to get practice.
We arrived to site about 17:30. Location 60 03.038 N, 24 55.597 E. Hinkki was attached to the bow side buoy, Irmeli to stern of Hinkki. The descent buoy was 20 m away.
Diving order:
- Mikko and Kimmo 17:39, Mikko on CCR, back at 18:39
- Jari K and Ekaterina, from 17:49 to 18:18
- Matti and Jari I, from 17:55 to 18:45
- Pekka and Juhani, from 18:01 to 19:01
I had to stay on boat as dive marshal until Mikko came up.
- me, Alpi, Marianne to water at 18:52, plan 50 min, actual dive time 44 min.
We dove as triplet, me leading with the camera and video lights on. A slow round around the wreck and then back up with 3 min/5 m safety stop. This time I shot mostly video. Visibility as bad as last Saturday. After we came up, Mikko drove Hinkki to ST1/Lauttasaari, where we refuled both boats. Back at harbor 20:00. Then unloading etc.
It was a nice trip according to plan and no incidents.
I had my latest camera rig: Olympus TG-6 in PT-058, AOI UWL-4 lens. BGNing tray, attached on each side a Nanight 400 lumen video light attached to tray with two pieces of BGNing 8" carbon fiber float arms.
