Coolaroo keula

Evening trip by Kupla.
We had 12 divers so both boats were used.
Tommi was captain of Hinkki, I was captain of Irmeli.
Planned departure was 17:00, but were were a little late.
Onto Irmeli I had: Juhani, Olli, Kimmo.
We drove straight to the wreck site in nice warm weather. Hinkki was attached to the buoy of Coolaroon bow first, then Irmeli to the stern of Hinkki.
Me and Juhani went to water first.
Visibility was really shitty and it was very dark.
When we got to the wreck, Juhani signalled that his dive computer was dead. Apparently battery out of charge. We decided to continue anywat as my computer was ok and this was an easy site.
Juhani started to dive towards the very bow and I followed him with my camera trying to shoot some video.
But visibility was so bad that the video footage is pretty much useless.

For some reason Juhani wanted very much to go to the bottom at 22m and under the fallen bow. There is nothing worth seeing there and you do get the fallen bow over you, so I tried to preent him going there by pulling his fins. He did not get the message and ended up long ways under the bow. He appeared to be almost panicking under there and visibilty was getting close to zero as he was finning the silt from bottom and trying to figure how to get out. I was mentally preparing to drag him out by force. Fortunaltey he did eventully come out by himself following my light signals pointing way out. It was total darkness down there, but I had my 2x4000 Lumen video lights and 4000 lumen dive light on, so even in bad visibility you can see those far away.
The back to the deck of the wreck. I tried to keep him behing me, so I would led and he would follow, but he kept wandering here and there so I had to concentrate on just watching him out.
We had a plan of 60 min, but after 35 min I decided that it was best to return to surface and Juhani's air was also getting low.

When we got to surface, I unloaded my diving gear to Irmeli, and went to Hinkki to become dive marshal, so that Tommi could go to water. He went with Outi and Sven and they had 75 min plan, as Tommi was diving on CCR. They intended to dive both bow and engine, which they also did.
It was 21 when they returned and we could start driving back home. Refueling at ST1/Lauttasaari.

List of all divers: Marianne, Kimmo H, Olli J. Ekaterina, Tommi T, Outi, Sven, Anna.
