My diving club had arranged this event to the deepest diving pool in nordics. It is 8 meters deep and built just for divers. It is only 30 min dive from my home. http://www.sukellusareena.com/
This was my first time to this pool. The public swimming pool at Leppävaara that we have usually available very Thursday evening is now closed due to corona pandemic restrictions. Therefore this privately owned pool is now the only option to practice diving indoors.
I needed to properly test my new dry suit and make sure it is not leaking. I used my D12 tanks full.
We had reserved the pool from 17:00 to 18:30. I arrived there just 10 min before we could go to water. It was really convenient to get the diving gear from car to the pool area.
I dived the entire time. I first tried the dry suit without the undersuit to confirm there are no leaking. First I had a small leak in one of the dry gloves, but that I managed to solve, apparently the cuff o-ring was not properly set. Then I dove to the bottom with no weights on, and that worked well. Then back to surface to check that no water had leaked into the suit. As that was a pass, I dressed the thick Weezle Extreme Plus under suit, and thick under gloves. Then attached 8 kg of weight. Then to the bottom. The 8 kg felt pretty ok. I just wonder how my D10 tanks would work with 8 kg, or should I add more with them. The suit was not leaking. Then back to surface to fetch the TG-6 camera and I took some pictures. I practiced various techniques of finning, draining the mask etc. The suit felt very warm as the water was 23 C. I did not wear a hood though. Apparently the neck seal was not entirely well set, maybe folded, as I had dry gloves on when pulling it over, so I managed to get some water though that.
The 90 min of diving went really fast. The suit felt pretty good. I just need to make sure that the neck seal does not fold. After the diving we went to sauna and some complementary coffee was served.
It was a very pleasant place so we should definitely go there again.
