1. 2021-06-16 D0807 Nederland
I had arrived to Kasnäs the day before on Tuesday 15.6.2021 and then loaded my gear to Orbiit. Then Orbiit left towards Åland, and we stayed overnight near Mariehamn.
First dive of the trip was on Wednesday morning to the wreck of Nederland, and nearby there is another wreck, the Caskelot. Me and Rupert dived together, I took my D10 tanks already full of 32% Nitrox and my camera. I would be diving with Rupert for the rest of the trip, with the exception of a few when Rupert decided to bail out.
Nederland was a barge from Holland and sank on 18 December 1917 near Marhällan island. Wreck was found 1994. It is at 22 m depth, length 25 m. Cargo was stones. Visibility was pretty good, 5 to 10 m. From the front there was a 100 m line to the wreck of Caskelot, which we also dived. This was a two masted sailing boat that sank 1970. It is still in good shape at 27 m depth, and there the visibility was really good. We dived almost an hour.
After the dive we had lunch, filled the tanks and headed to Plus.
