2020-09-26 dive to Tiilihylky on Hinkki boat.
This was a Saturday afternoon trip for P2+ divers. There were me, Emmi, Olli, Juhani. Olli was driving the boat out and one the way back. At the harbour we planned that we really wanted to dive at Coolaroo, but the weather might be too hard to go there, so the backup plan was Tiilihylky, and the 2nd backup Rysakari. Wind was from East and at the Laajalahti bay it did not feel too bad. But when we got out at the open sea, it was apparent that wind and waves were too much to go all the way out to Coolaroo. So then to the Tiilihylky site. We concluded that the wind was bit too much to anchor the boat, so decided that we would just drop first pair to water, and the boat would drive at upwind, then pick up first pair and repeat.
Olli and Juhani went as first pair. Their plan 50 min. Me and Emmi stayed in the boat and I was drviving. We dropped Olli and Juhani at the buoy that was apparently marking the wreck and then headed east. The boat would drift quite quickly to west. Then after 50 min they surfaces and I picked them up from water. Then me and Emmi kitted up and were dropped to the buoy. We found the wreck and dived around it for 30 min. Visibility was pretty good for this site, about 8 meters. I did not have camera this time, but wished I had taken it was visibility was so good. Then we dove uphill to 5 meters and did a long safety stop on top of the bottom. Then up and were picked up.
We then drove the boat back to harbour, stopping at Lauttasaari ST1 to fuel.
I did notce that the suit was bit wet inside, and there had to be some kind of leak. But I did not have time to investigate that more.
