After the previous dive 2020-10-11 at Gustaf Adolf I had lots of water inside my DiveRite model 905 dry suit. Especially wet was the crotch area and right foot was filled with water. It was apparent that there was a serious leak in the suit. All summer the socks had been wet after each dive. A bubble test confirmed that the crotch seam had a major leak.
I had first thought that I could fix the leak in crotch seam with some Rubberfix on top of the seam. But when I started to look the suit more closely, I noticed that original glue in the seam was no longer holding the fabrics together. In fact the fabrics easily separated and the glue was entirely no longer holding at all. I bought Casco S9 Super contact glue and decided to fix this seam with that. I tore the crotch seams open a long way, and reglued the top fabrics.
Then on 2020-11-26 went to dive at Leppävaara swimming pool to test the suit. Under the suit I had cotton underwear that would show leaks clearly. After the dive I noted that the crotch seam fix had worked and there was no longer any leaking there. However, there were other areas that were leaking. Both the boots are leaking to the ancles and socks were wet. At the left back side there was a leak, as well as on both shoulders. So, much more fixing was needed.
