On weekend 22/23.5.2021 diving club Kupla had a weekend of fully day diving. Two dives per day. I was not able to participate on Saturday, but on Sunday I did both dives. For the first dive trip we left harbour at 9 AM. I had prepared all my gear and packed it to car the day before so I just drove to harbour and loaded my gear to the boat.
We were 8 divers: me and Paavo (pair), Olli and Vode, Tero and Ville J., Maija and Tuomas.
The plan was to dive the wreck of Orion, but when we approached the site, there was a fog with zero surface visibility. As the site is at open sea, no islands nearby, it was too unsafe. We changed the plan and went to dive the wreck of Rysäkari instead. There was no wind and no waves.
There was a canister at the wreck site, so we found it immediately. Olli and Vode went first, me and Paavo second. Now I had my camera with me, and I took some pictures and video. Visibility was pretty ok, about 3 to 5 m. We circled the wreck almost 3 times. Then surfaced after 55 min.
Everyone’s dives went ok, and then we drove back to Otaniemi. At harbour I took my tanks to Kuplakammio for filling. And then went for pizza lunch at Alice’s place with Vode, Ville and Tero. And bought a deco beer for the 2nd dive.
