The 2nd dive trip of Sunday started at 15:00. We were 10 divers, a full boat. I was now the captain of the boat, Mailiina the 2nd. We were me, Tuomas, Mailiina, Anna, Marianne, Emmi, Keni, Walter, Elias, Miika.
The chosen site was Coolaroo. The backup site Tiilihylky in case of fog. But once got to the open sea, the fog was gone, so we were able to go to Coolaroo. I got the boat to the site quickly and could see the buoy attached to the bow part. But since we had many P1 level divers, I decided we anchor at the engine. I parked the boat at the exact GPS location where the sonar readings also confirmed the engine was here. We dropped our marker buoy and anchored the boat.
Me and Tuomas went in first and we had agreed to move the marked buoy at a better location if needed. Once we got down to bottom at 8 m, I could see the marker was next to the engine shaft about 10 meters west of the engine block. So we moved the marker next to then engine block and started diving around the debris area. After 40 min, Tuomas wanted to go up as he was feeling cold already. His suit apparently has a minor leak and the water was 7 degrees. So up we went.
There were some pairs who did dive also the bow section of the wreck. When we started diving, there was almost no wind and waves and it was sunny. But after an hour the wind picked up and waves started to rise, there was also some rain. Everyone dived ok, and Mailiina/Anna came up last. After that to refule at Lauttasaari and back to harbour. I let Tuomas drive the boat back.
