4th dive of the trip.
Thursday afternoon’s plan was to dive the wreck of Planet, south shore of the island Granö near Mariehamn. A shotline was dropped to the coordinates of the site. Rupert decided not to dive so I went with Emma and Teemu. The first pair to water shot up an SMB, which started moving. First, we thought it was the exact location of the wreck. Later we found that the pair had just lost each other and were searching their buddy. When me, Emma and Teemu went down the shotlien, the visibility was terrible, almost zero and it was really crowded down at the bottom where it was muddy and totally zero viz. We lost Teemu so returned to surface. Decided to try again and follow the reel line that Sami and Esa were apparently from the shotline.
At the bottom zero viz again, Teemu was first, me second and Emma last, we just followed the reel line in zero wize by holding the line at 14 to 10 m depth. Eventually bumped against the the rocky wall of the island and no wreck found. We all turned around and returned to shotline following the reel line. Then back to surface and to Orbiit. The dive was essentially a mud dive in zero vis following lines. A total disaster.
Orbiit then continued near the Plus dive site, where we planned to dive next morning.
