Dive 3/8 of the Utö 2020 camp.
We had missed one day of diving, as yesterday Monday 2020-07-06 there was a storm, 12 m/s and 2 meter waves making safe diving impossible.
During the night the sell in the boat lagoon had deteched the chains we had around big rocks on the beach, and both boats were attached to these chains from front. The rear of Hinkki boat had crashed against the rocks on the other side, causing some damage. It turned out that only the metal propeller had received some damaged to the blades, and it was still possible to drive the boat at low engine RPM. The propeller was changed to a spare later that day.

The hard wind also broke my new tent, by bending the fiberglass poles so hard that they snapped. I tried to repair the broken poles with duct tape, but it was hopeless. This tent was no longer going to work. Fortunately Emmi who was leaving the camp borrowed me her tent, so I was able to sleep in that tent for the remainder of the camp. Emmi's tent had poles from aluminium and was designed to bear hard wind. The tent I had bought from Jysk was proven not suitable for strong winds.

During the day the wind was still too hard for diving, so we went to the main island of Utö and did a tour. Also ate late lunch at the hotel restaurant. The we discovered that the main compressor Coltri refused to start up no matter what we did to it. We opened the Honda engine as much as was possible outdoors, but no good explanantion why it no longer started up. So all we had left was the backup, the old slow Bauer Capitano.

Finally late in the Tuesday evening of 2020-07-07 the sea calmed enough to commence diving. We went to dive Park Victroy again with both boats Hinkki and Irmeli, quite late in the evening, but sun was not setting until 11 PM. Now I got to dive with Eero. I was on the Irmeli boat and my diving light power cable got stuck to the tank holders. After pulling the cable out, something happened and the light no longer worked. I left it at the boat and deployed my backup light.
With Eero we didi a full tour again, no penetrations. At the wreck it was quite dark and the backup light was only 1000 Lumens, while my main light would have been 4000, a big difference and I really missed my light. Otherwise the dive was good and no issues. I did notice that the right hand glove was leaking a little and there was clearly a small hole in it. I also suspected that right leg of the dry suit also had a minor leak.

Once we got back to the island I opened the light canister to find out the reason for failure. The power cord had come out 10 mm from the canister, which was enough to detach the internal connector to the battery pack. There was still enough cable inside left to reconnect the power connector, but I had to put some stuffing under the battery pack to prevent it disconnecting. When getting back home I would have to fix the cable properly, but this workaound should do for now.
Also the leaks in the gloves and suit need fixing...
