Dive 2/3 of Pellinki trip.
2nd dive of the trip was planned to the wreck of Lea. After the lunch and all tanks filled up we drove the boat to the dive site. Again, no buoy there, so we searched it with sonar and dropped the shot. Weather was even nicer than in the morning, wind and waves going down.
The 50m long brig Lea sank on 10th December 1889. It was sailing from Helsingör destination Borgå when in storm hit a nearby rock and sank near Skarvgadd.
1st pair to water were Vode and Alpi. Me and Keni followed as soon as we concluded that the 1st pair had probably found the wreck. We found a reel line going out from the shot lien and followed, and did arrive to the bow of the wreck. Visibility at this spot was pretty bad, something like 2 meters. The wooden wreck was massive, but the deck had fallen everywhere. We did go around and over the wreck in half an hour. After everyone had dived, we headed back to our island to make dinner, fill tanks, recharge batteries with the generator we brought. After dinner we finished the evening with sauna, beers and whisky. The night on the island was peaceful with a sky full of stars.
Not many pictures were taken from Lea because the camera battery ran out at the beginning of the dive. I had consumed most of the batter capacity during the Raimo-Ragnar dive and did not have an opportunity recharge until end of the day. Also visibility was pretty bad.
