Coolaroo keula

Sunday morning dive to Coolaroo.
There was a lot of email discussion about weekend's diving for the entire preceeding week.
Orginal suggestion was to to do deep technical dives on both sat and sun, but we never got enough cricical mass to do tech dives. Then weather forecast for Saturday showed too much wind anyway and cancelled Saturdat.
But Sunday looked good, so we downgraded the dive to P2/P3 level and agreed Coolaroo as site and departure at 10 AM.
We had a strick deadline to be back by 16:00 due to people's evening activities.

We got 10 divers, which is maximum capacity of Hinkki boat.
Me, Janne, Vode, Juhani, Heikki P, Ulla, Matti N, Jari, Milla, Eero.

We managed to depart Otaniemi harbour as planned at 10 AM.
Weather was perfect, warm but not too hot, not much wind and very low waves.
Boat ride to Coolaroo was nice and we got there just half past 10.
There was a fixed buoy at the bow section and we attached Hinkki boat to it and started diving operations immediately.
Ulla had already prepared the manifest and paired everyone.
Me and Janne went to dive first. Janne had D12 tanks with 30% Nitrox, I had D10 32%.
I took pictures with Olympus TG-5 in PT-058, with AOI UWL-04 lens and 2x Nanight 4KLm video lights.

Down the line I could see that visibility was really good. So we dived slowly towards the box exploring the cargo hold and front holds a little. Then down the anchor chain, along the bottom, some more exploration of the front hold, then below the bow cabin, on top of it, then we entered the decks from the rear part of the wreck and penetrated some distance inside.
Now it was time to find the engine. The line that last year guided to the engine block was gone, so we tried to find it without line goin up the underwater hill. Unfortuately we failed finding the engine, and then surfaced from 6 meters with SMB that Janne launched.
When we got to surface we could see that we were some 50 meters west from the buoy that marked the engine block.

Visibility under water was really good, and I got some pretty good pictures.

After the dive there was a seal circling the boat. Some saw the seal under water.
At 1 PM all pairs had surfaced, and there were no incidents of any kind.
We drove the boat back, and refueled at Lauttasaari. Diesel consupmtion was 40 liters, cost 7 Euro per head.
We go back to harbour at 2 PM very well in schedule.
