There was a 3rd and last dive and only half of the divers wanted to do that. Ari took us to a wreck that was right on the boat route. However, this late in the autumn there was hardly any traffic.
Me and Mattias did the dive, and Harri decided to skip. I had 90 bar left of my D10 tanks, and 90 bar in the 7L stage, so that was probably good for a 30 min dive to 20 meters.
Me and Mattias went down again first on the shot line and found the wreck right next to it, the deck at 19 meters. Visibility was about 4 meters. This was an unidentified wooden boat, about 30 meters long, about 100 years old, was carrying a huge cargo of bricks. Now the wreck lies on its keep at a depths of 22 meters, the bow is broken and the bricks loaded to the bow part had spilled all over. The stern part is in a good shape and a large rudder is still intact. I took pictures.
We circled the wreck about three times then started ascent when by D10 tanks were showing 50 bars, and finally I got to see what the Shearwater alarm looks for gas getting low. At 16 m we both switched to 50% stages and did some deco at 5 meters. Total dive time case just to 30 min as planned. I had 45 bar left in D10 and over 60 bar in the stage. Now with the one sweater off, the weights of 6.6 kg were pretty ok.
After everyone had surfaced, we headed back to Porkala Marin and quickly unloaded the boat. I drove straight back home to a warm sauna.
