7th dive of the trip.
Saturday afternoon dive at Belliver. This wreck I also have dived many times before.
Belliver was a 58 m long steam ship carrying a cargo of wood from Plymouth to Pori in September 1911 when it disappeared along with its crew. The wreck was found in 2009 near Märket lighthouse and in a very good condition after a century at the bottom of the sea at 30 m depth. It is not known what sank the ship and what happened. The hull seen from the outside is in good condition, but these are big holes at the bow, and it appears that rudder and propeller have been torn off, perhaps the ship had a massive collision to a nearby underwater reef and sank rapidly. There are many interesting details such as the ship’s bell, telegrams, steering wheels and log. Apparently at the front cabins there are remains of the crew.
I dived with Rupert with my D10 28% Nitrox and we took 50% deco stages with us. There is a fixed decent line attached to the bow. We did a long dive to the rear and back, and I took many photos. There was good light at bottom and nice visibility. At 25 min started to get already some deco. Started ascent after 35 min on the line, gas switch at 21 m, and did stops every 3 m. Most deco time was cleared by the time we got to 3 m, but in total we did a 10 min ascent. It was a nice dive.
After the dive Orbiit headed towards north and we anchored near an island for the Saturday night.
